South America Waypoints Collection Notes
I created and am maintaining a master set of Garmin data file (gdb) waypoints for South America.
I combined waypoints from Don Green, Stephen Stewart, Simone & Frank (a German couple) and an XL sheet with no author information dubbed "Points of Interest in Central and South America."
I am adding our waypoints as we progress through South America.
The codes for the waypoints are:
DG - Don Green
DH - Douglas Hackney
SF - Simone & Frank
SS - Stephen Stewart
PI - Points of Interest XL sheetIf you have South American waypoints or know of other waypoints available on the web, please email me and I will add them to this master file.
It is known that DG, DH and SS waypoints used large expedition vehicles so access clearance for large rigs can be assumed with those waypoints.
Note that some of these waypoints are several years old. Consequently, waypoint sites may no longer exist or access to them may no longer be possible.
I created a variety of waypoint categories which I will add to as required.
Frequency of update: I generally update these files every two to four weeks.
